With a summer tour planned for the U.S. and Europe, the stage is set for 7th Symphony, Apocalyptica’s most eclectic and inspired album to date, one that places equal emphasis on beautiful melodies and heavy, bombastic rhythms.
Ludwig vanBeethoven started writing his 7th symphony in 1811 while he was visiting the Bohemianspa town of Teplice, trying to improve his health. It was finished in 1812 anddedicated to Count Moritz von Fries. The premier was in Vienna at a charityconcert on December 8, 1813. Beethoven conducted it himself and it was received so well that theconcert had to be repeated three times in the following ten weeks. The Symphony has four parts, each referredto as a movement. The favorite of the crowd was the second movement, calledAllegretto. It was encored.
There was no doubt that in the closing 7th Symphony by Beethoven, the stars of the night were conductor Darrell Ang and MSO which rose to the occasion.
