It used to be a played out, smarta$ed way of showing how the government would be trying to keep track of the population, how they'd just scan people in an impersonal fashion for identification. Typically worn by people with a great mistrust of the government (punks, anarchists, etc). Like the rumor of everyone being micro chipped today is. Or it could mean someone loves oreos and had the barcode tattooed to them in homage.
Odd, but true: all Azalea staff members are inked, yet none of us has a barcode tattoo. Go figure! And for those of you whoâve asked about thanking us, you can always contribute to our coffee & beer fund through PayPal.
However, if every citizen did receive a barcode tattoo, almost every action you did could be recorded. Every transaction, visit to a government building, trip to the airport, or police encounter could be tracked and recorded.
