She was born June 12, 1916, on a farm south of Masonville, daughter of William John and Susan Katherine Callan McDowell. She married Bernard Patrick Loughren on Feb. 6, 1940, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Monti; he died March 9, 1975.
Katherine Callan Kee, 45, died April 7, 2008, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview after a short illness. Kathy, as she was known to her friends and family, is survived by her husband, Danny Kee; sons, Trent and Zac Calloway; stepdaughters, Jessica and Lindsey Kee; mother, Jeane Callan of Big Sandy; brothers, William "Chuck" Callan Jr. and Michael Callan; sister, Kimberly Callan; nieces, Leanne Martin and Alexandra Callan; and great-niece, Katelyn Martin. She was preceded in death by her father, William Callan Sr. Kathy was a graduate of Big Sandy High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, a majorette and a band member for four years. She attended B.M.I. Business College after high school. Her life's passion was interior design. Services will be at noon today, April 9, 2008, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Interment will follow in the Chilton Cemetery of Big Sandy. Pallbearers will be Robbie Anthony, Dewayne Broussard, Carlos "Scooter" Griffin, Tyler Hjorth, Gary Hooks and David Justiss. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
