Matt Battaglia started Denton’s newest, and possibly biggest, music festival when he was just 23 years old. Once the city's upstart festival, is heading into its third year with its biggest lineup yet and an opportunity to solidify itself as one of the very best in North Texas. But it's not the only thing that Battaglia and his friends are doing for Denton music these days.
Matt Battaglia was born September 25, 1965 in Tallahassee, Florida. He is the youngest of four children. Spent most of his life growing up in suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Attended the University of Louisville, became an All-American middle linebacker and led the nation in tackles his junior & senior years. He played in the NFL with Cleveland Browns & Philadelphia Eagles. Created The Mint Jubilee, a celebrity driven charity event at the Kentucky Derby which has raised millions of dollars for cancer patients He co-founded this event in memory of his mother whom he lost to cancer. He Produced a television show of this event which aired worldwide in over 200 million homes. Most recently,he Co-Produced the feature film "Brothers" (2009) and optioned the rights to "The Marlboro Marine (2009). CEO & President of his production company named Blink. He has been credited in over 60 film and television shows. He is most recognized from TV's "Friends" (1994) as Lisa Kudrow's boyfriend, the fireman and as the controversial MVP Quarterback 'Drew Boyd" on Showtime's critically acclaimed "Queer As Folk".
