"Jimmy serves as the Area 3 Coordinator for State Fire Rescue Training where he has the opportunity to share his experience and knowledge with new fire chiefs throughout the region. He coordinates the fire science program and the paramedic program at Owensboro Community & Technical College. Jimmy is active on many local, regional, state and national committees. He has been a member of the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Firefighter Professional Qualifications Committee since 2010. In 2013, Gov. Steve Beshear appointed Jimmy to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. He currently chairs the Education committee for KBEMS."
According to the National Fire Protection Association, there are an estimated 280,000 intentionally-set fires reported each year with 420 deaths, 1,360 injures and $1.3 billion in property damage. Gordon said he applied for the arson dog, and BFRS was quickly accepted into the program.
