I purchased this as part of my baby grandson's Easter gift. This tin pail is adorable, its a nice size, and The Poky Little Puppy graphics are so cute. I know his mom will be keeping this as a keepsake for him!
Now through Nov. 5, childhood nostalgia will run rampant as gallery attendees set their gaze to original art from "The Great Big Fire Engine Book," "The Little Red Hen" and "The Poky Little Puppy," among others. A series of sessions featuring guest readers sharing Little Golden Books with visiting children are planned through the run of the exhibit.
I must confess. If there's one book that I pray my kids never ask me to read, it's the Golden Books classic "The Poky Little Puppy." I've gone to great lengths to bury this plodding and pointless tale in the bookcase. For those unfamiliar with it, the story goes like this: Mischievous puppy and hapless siblings repeatedly ignore their mother's warnings to stay in the yard; angry mom punishes naughty dogs by taking away their desserts; dawdling Poky misses punishments and gets all the goodies.
