The Lively Art of Writing - Exodus Books

Just as a house needs a good foundation, a good essay requires a good structure. Chapter four of the Lively Art of Writing was a chapter completely devoted to teaching writers about the proper structure to use when writing an essay. As a group we learned many important things that will help us greatly in our future writing projects. One example of something that we all learned from this chapter is how to write a good introduction to an essay. The introduction paragraph is the paragraph that hooks the reader into your essay, which makes writing a good intro a very important task. Since our group has gained a much better understanding of how to write a well thought out intro paragraph, we will be able to hook our readers into our essays much better. A couple more examples of some knowledge that we gained from reading this chapter are how to organize our arguments that we make and how to tie your arguments into your conclusion. As long as we use all of the information on structure that we learned from chapter four of the Lively Art of Writing, we will be able to greatly improve our writing.
