Worry Busters! Activities for Kids Who Worry Too Much (Rainbow Reach)

Worry Busters is a therapeutic and participatory initiative to help children and their parents to manage anxieties in a small group setting. Children meet every week and engage in a component of the Cool Kids program followed by circus activities tailored to the age group. Parents meet on a fortnightly basis and engage in the parental component of the Cool Kids program. Classes are offered on a term-by-term basis on Fridays during school hours at the Tuggeranong Child and Family Centre. For further information and bookings please contact the Bungee office.

Everybody worries. But sometimes, children worry too much. Adults want to help, but children try so hard to ''be like other kids'' that it''s often hard getting them to open up. Sometimes, children themselves may not even know what''s wrong. "Worry Busters!" is a beautifully designed and produced activity book that helps open the lines of communication with kids 6-14. Through carefully structured activities like drawing pictures, writing silly poems, making checklists and ''animal sizing'' different worries, the author helps children not only understand their worries, but learn simple ways to deal with them. "Worry Busters!" makes a loving gift. Plus, as children work through the activities page by page, they also create a keepsake scrapbook brimming with reassurance and worry-busting techniques they can turn to over and over again.

Worrying is very prevalent among community based adults, but this tendency can have quite a deleterious effect on both emotional and physical health. "Worry Busters" aims to help people understand this tendency, and to give them to the techniques to reduce if not stop this tendency.
